Of Body and Ice

Today I’m taking you to a photo shoot with a very good friend of mine, Lindsey, who falls into the category of Super Trooper when it comes to braving some tough elements. We did this shoot on a day when the temps were in the mid-20′s with big ice all around us…and I do mean BIG ice……We both got a good workout during this one and at the same time got some MOST EXCELLENT pictures. Here’s a part of what we did.LINDS 17 SMLLINDS 7 SMLLINDS 11 BW BLU 2 SMLLINDS 20 SMLLINDS 11ABC SMLLINDS 18 BW SML

Body and Motion

Several years ago I was introduced to the world of ballet through an HBO special about artist Edgar Degas and his paintings. While I wasn’t the best at drawing or painting dancers I did have the ability to photograph them and have been very fortunate to be able to work with the Louisville Ballet in Louisville, KY for the last 12 years. For me ballet is like a silent movie, (which I’m also a fan of), with the music, and talents and gifts of the dancers to bring out the story and its emotions with just body and motion. They have graciously allowed me to show some of my photographs of this very special group of people which I can proudly say have become very special friends of mine.
