Best of 2016

As you know and as you’ve seen I’m a photographer and photojournalist that takes hundreds of thousands of pictures every year. Since it’s been a while since I’ve been on here I thought I would catch up a little bit on what I did in 2016. Here’s what I consider my best of the best from last year. Oh…..and I’m already working on next year’s best too. %-)

Last week I got to do a MOST EXCELLENT photo shoot with Leah. We kind of found our own zone and just kept shooting and shooting and shooting losing all track of time. By the time we were done we had worked together for more than 3 1/2 hours and put in more than 3,800 frames. It was another one of those shoots where I have little to no makeup done. I look for more of a natural flavor. I think that worked very well with Leah. It was definitely a good day. We had a blast and are already talking of shooting again. ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Last week I had a most excellent day of shooting with Mz Brittany here in southern Indiana. We worked mostly in black and white shooting over 1,300 frames in just a short time. Actually I was looking for one certain image for an exhibition piece which I think I was able to get, but I’m still working on that. But in the mean time here’s a little bit of what we did. Of Body and Ice

Today I’m taking you to a photo shoot with a very good friend of mine, Lindsey, who falls into the category of Super Trooper when it comes to braving some tough elements. We did this shoot on a day when the temps were in the mid-20’s with big ice all around us…and I do mean BIG ice……We both got a good workout during this one and at the same time got some MOST EXCELLENT pictures. Here’s a part of what we did.LINDS 17 SMLLINDS 7 SMLLINDS 11 BW BLU 2 SMLLINDS 20 SMLLINDS 11ABC SMLLINDS 18 BW SML

Body and Motion

Several years ago I was introduced to the world of ballet through an HBO special about artist Edgar Degas and his paintings. While I wasn’t the best at drawing or painting dancers I did have the ability to photograph them and have been very fortunate to be able to work with the Louisville Ballet in Louisville, KY for the last 12 years. For me ballet is like a silent movie, (which I’m also a fan of), with the music, and talents and gifts of the dancers to bring out the story and its emotions with just body and motion. They have graciously allowed me to show some of my photographs of this very special group of people which I can proudly say have become very special friends of mine.
